Jaws - Memories From Martha's Vineyard
Packed with previously unseen photographs, and complete with a Foreword by Steven Spielberg, Jaws: Memories from Marthas Vineyard is one of the most impressive behind the scenes books ever produced, and is a must-have for the worldwide legions of Jaws fans who just cant get enough of the greatest action-adventure picture of all time. Warning: Youre gonna need a bigger coffee table.
It’s almost too easy to exalt this book, which would nicely decorate anyone’s coffee table with a kind of prestige and class, as THE definitive book on Steven Spielberg’s ‘Jaws‘, or “the one that fans have been waiting for!” It wouldn’t be wrong to call it that either. This large, hulking, 312-paged mass of photos, notes, interviews and newspaper reprints is, by far, the most comprehensive and detailed ever done for the classic horror film. The book by Matt Taylor is something that any respectable movie buff and cinephile should have in his or her home.
After filming was over, with Spielberg's cooperation, Gottlieb chronicled the extraordinary yearlong adventure in The Jaws Log, which was first published in 1975 and has sold more than two million copies. This expanded edition includes a photo section, an introduction by Benchley, and an afterword by Gottlieb that gives updates about the people and events involved in the film, ultimately providing a singular portrait of a famous movie and inspired moviemaking.
Finally, a book about the entire JAWS series! Meet all the first shark's victims, discover behind-the-scenes facts and gossip on JAWS! Encounter those responsible for JAWS 2, JAWS 3-D and JAWS: THE REVENGE! Find out about the aborted JAWS sequel, NATIONAL LAMPOON'S JAWS 3 PEOPLE 0 and which JAWS sequel was supposed to start with the shark eating Chief Brody!" Journalist PAT JANKIEWICZ, writer for FANGORIA and STARLOG takes an incisive look at the amazing story of the entire JAWS franchise!

Just When You Thought It Was Safe - A Jaws Companion
Starting with the arrival of production designer Joe Alves while location scouting in December of 1973, “Jaws” is portrayed almost like a Nor’easter that descended upon MV, impacting the town economically, socially and practically just in terms of simple day-to-day living. Neighbors, friends and colleagues all found themselves a part of the filmmaking process, and their memories add a fresh new perspective to the oft-told telling of the movie’s production.

On Location On Martha's Vineyard - Edith Blake
It’s difficult to re-read this novel without having the movie version repeatedly pop into your imagination and that’s particularly damaging here as it highlights all the inherent problems in Benchley’s book and provides a stark and unfavorable contrast. It’s unfortunate the core text is so repulsively delineated as you simply don’t care about any of Benchley’s characters to the extent that at one point this reviewer wished the monstrously ‘intelligent’ shark would somehow manage to devour most of the principals here.
